Hola! from Senorita Gilli

Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s my turn to share my project with you all for our Ribbons and Pearls challenge at the House of Gilli. This is an easy one, so you really have no excuses. Come join us. You have until April 10 at 10:00 p.m. to enter.

I have chosen Senorita Gilli for my little piece of art. She was perfect to color with my Copics. And then I had a lot of fun adding all the layers. I have used the Elegant Flourishes Sizzix die for extra flourish around the flower and in the upper right hand corner part of the Parisian Motif circle. The other dies that I have used are Spellbinder’s in Scalloped Circles, Parisian Motifs, and Fleur De Lis Rectangles. And all of these (including Gilli) can be purchased from StampingScrapping. The most wonderful online merchant you will ever meet!

My flowers are colored with Copics and then painted with Creative Inspirations paint. I love this paint! It is transparent and has so much shimmer!

After you have entered over at House of Gill, and you used a Gilli, don’t forget to join and post to our groups on Yahoo (House of Gilli) and our photo gallery on Flickr (Gilli Gallery).

The details for my project:
Copics: yr000, 00, 01, 02; r20; e000, 00, 07, 11;

ALETHA the Fairy of Truth

Happy Friday everyone! The weekend is on it’s way.

Here is a project that I sincerely loved doing. Tracey, owner/artist of The Stamping Boutique, created this illustration. She told me that after she finished it she did not know of a name. Well…she thought of my name “Aletha”! I was overcome with emotion. I have never had my name associated with anything so beautiful other than it’s Greek meaning “truth.” Also, while I was growing up, people (and this includes teachers) could never pronounce it correctly. They would always say “Althea.” I was on the verge of changing my name, but now that I am “all grown up,” I am so glad I didn’t! LOL I am truly honored. Thank you, Tracey, from the bottom of my heart!

On to “Aletha”…
Of course I used my Copics for coloring the image and the flowers. The image was printed out on Cryogen 80#. After coloring the flowers I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist Pearl. The inside was stamped and colored with Copics also. The butterflies are from Frost Creek Charms. I colored them with a black Sharpie. I was surprised they stayed so shiny.

The background on the front and the medallion on the inside were stamped on Neenah Classic 80# Solar White, with Now and Always stamp set from Ippity/Unity (which I sell, just follow the link). I used Versamark, and then embossed with clear embossing powder. After everything cooled, I then sponged Memento Inks in Rhubarb Stalk, Cantaloupe, and Sweet Plum, for the colors. I used the colors that were posted for The Play Date Café #73 challenge. I am too late to enter the challenge, but I wanted you to know where I got my inspiration.

I am also entering this in the Wednesday Sketch Challenge on The Outlawz site. Go check this group out, it is wonderful, very friendly, and there’s a lot happening.

Here’s more details on my little piece of art:
Copics: YR02, 12, 18; E0000, 07, 11; RV93, 99; R20

Spicas in Garnet, Pitch Black, Orange;
Gelly Roll in Clear Star and Glitter Orange

A Dragonfly meets a little Midnight Madness

Happy Tuesday!

My project was completed with a little sadness. It’s my last one for Priscilla Styles Store. I have had to scale back my design team work due to personal/health/time issues. Those issues are all for the good, believe me. I am just sad about not being able to stay on Priscilla’s DT for another term. She has some of the most interesting and creative images to work with. And believe me, I have thoroughly enjoyed creating with them.

This little creation started with Priscilla’s Dragonfly image. It is one of my favorites. I have tried to make the entire piece look vintage.

First I colored the dragonfly with Copics in B91, 95, 97, 99 and W0, 3, 9. I covered the wings with Lime Ice and Holly Stickles. The cardstock is a natural color from my stash. The DP is from Cosmo Cricket and BasicGrey. I have distressed the edges and then use Distress Ink in Vintage Photo around all edges.
My embellishments are ribbon from SU and the pearls are from BasicGrey and Prima.

The wonderful sketch is from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge blog, and it’s the 96th challenge! This is just the beginning of this challenge, so you have plenty of time to create something of your own. And you will also want to join Priscilla’s group on CDAC, a very fun group of people to keep you motivated.

Other challenges for my dragonfly are:
The Crafty Pad – use a digi

Remember, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Have a Lollipop of a Day with Gilli

Hello everyone and welcome to the House of Gilli’s third challenge.

This is a very simple and fun challenge…use pastel colors and some bling. Why don’t you all come join us? There is plenty of time. If you are reading this today, Thursday, March 17, you have nine days.

Here is my creation with Lollipop Gilli for your viewing.

There is a little story behind my Lollipop Gilli. If you will look at her shoes, you will note that I made them into sandals. (Sorry, Anary. I know you meant for Gilli to be wearing shoes.)

My story…my DD, who is now 35, hated wearing shoes, PERIOD! It did not matter what the season. Well, we finally compromised (which is still hard to do with Heidi, to this day LOL). It was the dead of winter and if she had to have something on her feet it was going to her flip flops (I think she was around four years old). Our compromising was she could wear “sandals” but she had to wear socks with those sandals. Remember it was the winter. Thank goodness she went for it! I felt like I jumped hurtles that day. LOL Oh, and getting her to wear dresses, that’s a whole other story. I wonder if she will read this! She has given us two handsome teenage boys. I remind her every time we talk about the boys, "It's just payback." LOL

Challenges I have entered with Lollipop Gilli:
StampingScrapping Challenge - use pastel colors
My recipe is:

Inks: DI-dusty concord; Spicas-black, lavender, chocolate, orange; Gelly Roll-clear star; Sharpie-White
DP: DCWV-8x8 A Pocket Full of Posies collection
CS: Stardream Chrystal, Cryogen 80#
Bling: Stickles-Star Dust; Hobby Lobby

A Geisha and some Gingko

Happy Wednesday everyone! I guess by the time you read this the day is probably almost over. Late post, sorry.

This project was a lot of fun to make. After I decided what DP I wanted to use, I then picked my Copic colors. I was stumped on a layout so I headed over the Splitcoast Stampers and picked out SC#278. This one was perfect because I wanted to keep Chris’s design of Geisha2 square and I also wanted to incorporate Stamp Zia’s gingko leaf stamp. After I colored all of my elements I made them 3D with foam tape. (Photos really do not show that.) The DP is really had to see because it’s covered but it is the actual bottom layer.

Being a part of Chris Stern’s design team has been wonderful. Her designs help me think out of my box and are so inspirational. Please take a few minutes and check out her images.

Also, CS Designs is having it’s first challenge. Check it out here and you really don’t want to miss out on this one! There are so many chances to win!

Challenges I have entered with this project:
Cards and Things Challenge – Color challenge: certainly celery, marina mist, old olive
Craft Your Passion – Anything goes
The Shabby Tea Room – Luck of the Irish (use green)
Splitcoast Stampers - SC278 (see below)

My details for this project:
Stamps: Digi from CS Designs-Geisha2; Gingko stamp for the background from Stamp Zia.
Copics: B 21, 24, 26; YG17, 21, 67; R20; E000, 00.
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black; Spicas-Olive; Gelly Roll-Clear Star.
DP: Memory Box-Brioche collection.
CS: SU Basic Black.
Splitcoast Stamper: Sketch SC278

Thanks for stopping by! And have a great week!

Believe in You!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! It was beautiful in Oklahoma. Spring is almost here!

I have another pink one. This “Ballerina Resting” image from Priscilla Style’s Store shouted pink. At least it is a bright pink. It made the perfect shadow box. Wouldn’t this look great in a girl’s room, one who is just starting ballet?

I have also used the sketch for Midnight Madness #94. Again, just perfect for a shadow box. This challenge closes on Monday, March 14. You have a lot of time to win the prizes!

Other challenges that I have entered:
Paper Playtime #40 – Digi Mondays, anything goes
Crazy Challenge – Lovely Lady

The details for my project:
Copics: RV 10, 34, 69; E000, 00; W1, 3, 6; C3, 5, 9.

The Bonny Lass with the Green Hair

My turn for our second House of Gilli challenge. Our Hostess with the Mostess, anaRy, (and it being March) challenged us to use green. The Gilli I selected for my project is Burlesque Gilli, and I definitely used green! LOL  This was another fun one! Do some of you remember the movie The Boy with the Green Hair? This is where I got the idea for the green hair.

The cardstock I used is from Stampin’ Up! in Basic Black.  The designer paper I purchased from Michaels and it’s the Amy Butler series from K&Company. I also used the Spellbinder’s die in the Large Deckled Rectangles. The deckled edges were enhanced with Smooch Ink in Kiwi and Illuminate.

As everyone knows by now I purchase most of my supplies from StampingScrapping.com. These partners have some of the best variety and prices and definitely the best customer service. Go check them out!

My flowers I used are from the Little Flower Pack. These are so fun! You color them to match your project.  I used two sizes and colored them with Copics in YG21 and W02, and then sprayed with Glimmer Mist Pearl. The skeleton leaves are from the “Color Me Series” also. I sprayed them with Glimmer Mist Sweet Clover.  The other embellishment is the green Magnolia Shabby Chic Chandelier Garland.

Other challenges for Burlesque Gilli:
Splitcoast Stampers sketch SC314 (sketch to the right)
Craft Your Passion Challenges – Getting Girlie
Papertake Weekly – Anything goes with something old (rhinestones from my stash)
Copic Musketeers - Spring

Thanks for stopping by! I so hope you join us in this challenge. And if you use a Gilli in your project, don’t forget to join and post your little piece of art at House of Gilli at Yahoo and the Gilli Gallery on Flickr.
