Embossing time at Crafting by Designs

Good afternoon to everyone and welcome to Week Five Challenges at Crafting by Designs!

I am one of the hostesses for this week and I am introducing you to our “embossing” challenge. We want to see any kind of embossing, wet, dry, or faux, in your project. You can also create any kind of project you heart desires, but you must use some kind of embossing.

My project uses dry and wet. The pink background with the dry embossing was completed using a Sizzix embossing folder and distress ink. My wet embossing was done with an {ippity} stamp set, “Now and Always.” I used one of the flowers from that set. If you are interested in “Now and Always,” click here. “Now and Always” is one of my most popular {ippity} sets. I cannot keep them in stock. You can go ahead and order, I will have more within the next week or so.

I am also using a sketch from StampingScrapping® Techniques and Tutorials paid access site. See that little teapot? That was designed by my good friend Cindy, owner of StampingScrapping. This set, “Tea Time,” is another must have. These clear stamps are the perfect size for Copic coloring.
Now, head on over to Crafting by Designs for our Embossing Challenge and for our many other challenges. You have until May 5 to enter your little piece of art for the embossing challenge, whatever it might be. There is still plenty to do over at Crafting by Designs. We also have some wonderful sponsors for April! We would love to see you there.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

It’s Raining Happy at GHWI

It’s the third Monday of the month and time for another challenge at Get Hippity with {ippity}. We have a wonderful Challenge #19 for you. It’s April, which means “April showers.” In the Get Hippity with {ippity} (GHWI) world “April showers” means that our challenge theme is “Rain and/or Showers.” We want to see rain and/or showers on your project. We want your little piece of art to be anything you want to create but we must see rain and/or showers. The rain or those showers must be the resemblance of water. Please read our challenge blog rules before entering. If you follow our rules and you are randomly chosen, your prize is an {ippity} stamp set of your choice from my {ippity} sales blog.

I kept my project very simple, but it was fun to make! The {ippity} stamp set that I used is “Raining Happy.” I even used the sentiment that is provided with the set. Using a sentiment is very unusual for me, but I like it.
The background was completed using the “rain drop” stamp from the Unity February 2012 KOTM. I stamped the image with white pigment ink and then embossed with white embossing powder. The rain drops were then colored with a glitter pen and covered with a gel glaze pen. I stamped the strawberry image with Memento Tuxedo Black and proceeded to color with my Copics. I filled in the strawberry seeds with a black Spica pen, cut it out, and added foam on the back for dimension. The finishing touch was adding the pearls with a black Pearl Pen.
We, the GHWI Design team, would like to invite you to join us at a few groups that are going on right now. The Get Hippity with {ippity}/Join the Unity Community group at The Crafter’s Café. We have a monthly card game and the prize is a six (6) piece grab bag of {ippity} and/or Unity goodness. Our Facebook group, Get Hippity with {ippity}, is a place for chatter and to share your love of {ippity} and Unity!

Did you see the new release {ippity} bundle pack that Unity is offering? Your imagination will sore with these stamps. They would be great for all your mixed-media project.
Just  pick me, Aletha J. Williams (I’m in the second row from the bottom), as your {ippity} Chick, order some {ippity} and then some Unity. I would appreciate it tremendously!

If you just want some {ippity} goodness visit my {ippity} sales blog to view the latest releases and purchase all the {ippity} you want! You got {ippity}, then you’re Hippity!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I am on my way to link up with the {ippity} Linky Party. If you create a project using {ippity} or Unity, I hope you join us. I also hope you join GHWI for our 19th Challenge. I can’t wait to see what you can create using rain and/or showers.

Let’s get on with the show! My little piece of art is a 5” x 7” greeting card. The NEW {ippity} set that I used is Bloom & Simplify. All of the April {ippity} releases were designed by Angie Blom, one of the many talented artistas of Unity.

I would appreciate it tremendously! You can also visit my {ippity} blog to view the latest releases, or purchase some sets that I do have in stock. I also wanted to let you know that the Get Hippity with {ippity} (GHWI) Design Team has a new challenge planned for you beginning Monday, April 16. This will be our 19th challenge! The theme for this challenge is “rain or showers.” Our thinking was “April showers bring May flowers.” {ippity} and Unity have plenty of stamps with that theme, but for our challenge you do not have to use an ippity or Unity stamp. If you do use and {ippity} or Unity, your entry counts twice! This is your chance to win an {ippity} stamp set, your choice, from my {ippity} blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you have any questions, please contact me.

Challenge #3 at CCCB

Welcome to Wednesday and our No. 3 Challenge at The Crafter’s Café Challenge Blog (CCCB). Our theme is one of the most popular themes this time of year…”Spring with Pastel Colors!” This challenge runs until Midnight, April 30.

Our sponsor is Meljen’s Designs. Meljen is offering 4 non-colored images from her store as the prize.

Here’s a little back story on Meljen’s Designs:
Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical rubber and digital images inspired by her kids and family. Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at our store HERE to browse through all of Melissa's lovely designs! You can also see Melissa's rubber stamps at her corner of Whimsy Stamps, too!”

I created my little card with Meljen’s digi stamp Easter Bunny. I have colored the bunny with my Copics. My cardstock and designer papers are all from Stampin’ Up! My dies (I LOVE my dies!) are from Spellbinders and Cheery Lynn Designs.

I would like to invite you to The Crafter’s Café. We have a lot going on and several groups that you could immerse yourself in creativity.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see you at CCCB. There's really no excuse, you have plenty of time! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate asking.

It’s Monday!

Mondays, for me anyway, mean that I will be late with everything today. So, I guess with that said, I will start with my blog post for our Get Hippity with {ippity} (GHWI) Challenge #18. GHWI ‘s Challenge #18 is another wonderful color combo from Jessica’s Design Seeds. Jessica has given us some amazing color pallets for our imagination to run wild. I am always finding myself going to her Design Seeds blog when I need color inspiration. The one the GHWI Design Team chose is Henna Tones, a beautiful color combo.

My project today was a lot of fun to make. I put my Copics, watercolors, and pencils aside. I let the paper do all the talking. My flower and leaves are from the {ippity} set “Now and Always.” I embossed each and then cut them out. The flower has three layers for dimension. You will see some writing on the background paper and the burgundy oval die cut. This was accomplished with a stamp from the {ippity} set “Because of You.” The background stamp was stamped on the paper with Peeled Paint DI, and on the oval die cut stamped with SU’s Very Vanilla. I then heat set the craft ink for permanency.
Now and Always
Because of You

Some of the supplies that I used were SU Craft inks in basic black and whisper white; DI in peeled paint;; DP from New Leaf collection; CS from SU in kraft and bravo burgundy; Perfect Pearl mist; Sharpie white pain pen; pearls; dies from Spellbinders and Memory Box.
I will be sending my little piece of art over to the {ippity} Opportunity Blog. Every Monday we have the beginning of an  {ippity} Linky Party.” If you are creating with an {ippity} stamp, please “link up” and show us your beautiful work.
