Anything Goes at CBD

Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend! I hope you all have had a great week!

I want to take this time to introduce you to our monthly "Anything Goes" challenge over at Crafting by Design’s (CBD). This is the fourth and last week of June, so why not start you weekend by joining in.

For this “Anything Goes” challenge, I want you to create anything you want. That’s the “Anything Goes,” but there is a twist. That twist being is you will need to have a “bird” somewhere on your little piece of art. Easy peasy! And remember, this does not have to be a card, “anything” you want to create is what we want to see.

I have chosen to create a 4¾” square greeting card. My all occasion card is created with the {ippity} stamp set “Dream to BE.” I decided that I wanted everything sunny, but with layers and contrast. I do like my layers and I do like to have my colors pop.

The song bird was colored with Copics and distressed with Spiced Marmalade and Black Soot DI. I then used Spellbinder’s Classic Ovals and Scalloped Circles for the accents. My DP is My Mind’s Eye collection “Bloom & Grow.” CS is from Stampin’ Up! The flowers and bling are from my stash.

Here are some of the challenges that I am entering my card:
Charisma Cardz Challenge – Anything Goes
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge – Feathers/Birds
Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog – Dimension & Texture

I hope you join us at Crafting by Designs. There are plenty of challenges for you to join in, several new ones every week of the month.

Thanks for stopping by. If you need an {ippity} by Unity fix, head on over to my {ippity} Sales Blog!

A Blossom for Thursday

I thought I would take a few minutes and post another {ippity} card that I completed yesterday.

This was a really easy one to make and a lot of fun. I like lots of layers and I love sketches. For my sketch I used one of the latest ones published at Splitcoast Stampers. This one is SC389. Beautiful sketch and I added all the layers.

The blossom stamp is from an {ippity} set “Now & Always.” This is a very popular set and I cannot keep it in stock. In fact my {ippity} Sales Blog shows that I have it in stock, but don’t believe it. It just sold, so I have to order some more. I am not complaining. I LOVE the sales! If you are not into making your own cards, this Blossom greeting card is now on my site, AJ’s Designs.

On to my project…I first stamped the blossom three times on Cryogen cardstock. Then colored the blossom with Copic markers and cut out each section. I did the layering so I could get the 3D affect. Love dimension!

My cardstock is from Stampin’ Up! in Cherry Cobbler (a favorite of mine) and True Thyme. The designer paper is from BasicGrey’s Sugared collection. The Fanciful Flourish is a favorite die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

I am entering Blossom greeting card in the following challenges:
The Crafter’s Café – Embellies with a Twist, Layers
Splitcoast Stampers – Sketch Challenge 389
Crafts and Me – Anything Goes
Stamp ‘n Doodle – Swirls

Just a little more…You are invited to two wonderful Get Hippity with {ippity} groups. The first one is at The Crafter’s Café – Get Hippity with {ippity}/Join the Unity Community. We have a monthly card game to win a grab bag and an {ippity} Itty Bitty stamp. The second is on Facebook – Get Hippity with {ippity}. Come join us at both groups and show us your love of {ippity} and Unity.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me.

My first project was created using the {ippity} “Dream to BE” set. I really enjoyed this floral stamp from the set. I colored with Prismacolor pencils and used Frayed Burlap DI for the distressing. The cardstock is from SU and the designer papers are from My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose collection. The oval die cuts are Spellbinders. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

My second little piece of art was also created using the {ippity} “Dream to BE” set. I love this bird! I have no idea what species of bird I colored with my Copics, but surely in this big wide world there is a bird this color. ;o) My cardstock is SU’s, and the designer paper is BasicGrey Indian Summer collection. The oval die cuts are Spellbinders. The ferns are a die from Memory Box. I cut them on watercolor paper, sprayed with watercolor jewels and Perfect Pearls Mist.

CBD A Year in Cards: June Edition

Happy June! Starting today is one of our monthly Crafting by Designs (CBD) challenges “A Year in Cards.” I am the hostess for this particular challenge, and I challenge you to make a card with words of encouragement. Any kind of card will do, but there needs to be words of some kind of “encouragement” on the front of the card.

For my little piece of art “Hang in there,” I chose to make a square card using the {ippity} stamp set “One of THOSE days.” Isn’t that little birdie the cutest? I have colored him with my Copics and did some distressing with Black Soot DI.

All of my cardstock is Stampin’ Up! The designer paper is from Memory Box Blackbird collection. The Spellbinder’s dies I cut are the Large Scalloped Ovals and the Large Classic Ovals.

If you are interested in the {ippity} stamp set, “One of THOSE days,” please click here. While you are visiting my {ippity} Sales Blog, please take a look at my other {ippity} by Unity stamps that I have available. The card is also available on my new IndieMade website.

I hope you join us this month at CBD. If this challenge does not appeal to you, check back frequently for a multitude of other challenges.

Thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate asking.

More beautiful projects from the GHWI Design Team

Happy Sunday! I have four more inspiring Get Hippity with {ippity} projects to show you. These beautiful little pieces of art were created by four more of my GHWI Design Team. Onward to the inspiration!

Rhonda was the first Design Team member to post this last week. She used the {ippity} set “Because of You.” Look at her colors and layout! Beautiful!

Second was Kristy. She used “Angie Girl: Dream with your heart.” Fantastic piece of wall art! This {ippity} set is perfect for any mixed-media art.

Beth was our third to post. Isn’t this black and white card beautiful? So simple, yet so elegant. The {ippity} set Beth used are “Bloom & Simplify,” “Fall for You,” and “You Deserve.”

Our fourth {ippity} designer to post was Pam. Another very elegant one. I love how she used her stamps for the background elements. Pam used “Now and Always” and “Just Wanted to Say.”

We start our GHWI Challenge #22 tomorrow. Don’t forget to hop over to our challenge blog and find out what the challenge is. We are going to a “once a month” challenge beginning with the June 4 challenge. Don’t worry, there is going to be the same amount of inspiration, just about every day, from my talented GHWI Design Team.

I want to take this time to invite you to two Get Hippity with {ippity} groups. We would love to see your little pieces of art created with {ippity} and Unity stamps. The groups are The Crafter’s CaféGet Hippity with {ippity}/Join the Unity Community and Facebook – Get Hippity with {ippity}.  I hope you come join us.

Thanks for stopping by this beautiful Sunday! I hope you have a great and creative week!

My last project for the week!

I did it! This is my last card for this week. I proved to myself that I can do it, regardless of my disabilities and time limits. When I set my mind to it, and not procrastinate (I do procrastinate), and “Put my big girl panties on,” (Thank you, Beth!) I can do it.

My little piece of art was very fun to make. I made my own background paper again, but this time with stamping, VersaMark ink, and opalescent embossing powder. After that was heat embossed, then I sprayed with some watercolor washes. I really like the sparkles in this one.

The stamp I used, “Courage is my Strength,” is from my {ippity} by Unity line of stamps. Hop on over to my {ippity} sales blog and check out all the other fabulous sets I have. You can also purchase {ippity} at the Unity site now. You just need to pick me as your {ippity} Chick and go shopping.
This is a short one today. I do appreciate you stopping by. If you have any questions don’t hesitate contacting me.
