Halloween with the WitchyPoo

I apologize for my lateness everyone. I had this written last night, but when I was trying to post my computer kept freezing up. I gave up. I do get a new computer this weekend, finally!

Welcome to our 8th Challenge at Delicious Doodles. We have a frightfully fun one for you this last week in October. Can you guess what it is? Yep, you are right…perfect timing for the end of October…”Fright Night!” We want to see anything your heart desires to create, but it must stay within our theme of “Fright Night.”

I have the perfect Halloween card for you today. And Teri, Owner/Artist of Delicious Doodles, has plenty of spooky images for you. I chose to use Teri’s image, WitchyPoo, from her Halloweenies collection. These are some fun digis to work with. My favorite ones are WitchyPoo, of course, Lil’ Devil, and Vamp. I really like them all. I just know that these three are the ones I would enjoy the most with my Copics.

WitchyPoo has been colored with Copics and tweaked a little with my white colored pencil. When using my Ws and Cs, I need my white pencil. It just adds that little highlight that is sometimes needed.

My embellishments are Spellbinder’s Fleur De Lis Rectangles and Cheery Lynn Spider Web and Lace Corner dies. My background paper is from my stash and I used a distressing tool and some Black Soot Distress Ink.

Did you know that we have a Facebook group we would love for you to join? Click here and come share your love of Delicious Doodles Digital Stamps.

I hope you will join the Delicious Doodles Design Team for our “Fright Night” challenge. Your deadline is November 1. That gives you plenty of time to show us your "Fright Night."

WitchPoo will be visiting these challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks - Halloween
Simply Create - Anything Goes
Twisted Thursdays - Anything goes with a Halloween twist

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend and enjoy your Halloween. I still need some pumpkins to carve! Contact me if you have any questions.

The Countess at RSD

Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to our 2nd challenge at Sparkle & Glitter, a Rick St. Dennis (RSD) Challenge Blog. We have another fun one for you. Because this is October (and almost time for one of my favorite holidays) our theme is “Sweet or Spooky Halloween.” Your deadline is November 1, at 7 p.m. PST. Plenty of time for you to create whatever your heart desires. We accept all kinds of art as long as you stick with the theme.

For my project I decided to use an over-sized tag that I had in my stash. The background is completed with a color technique that I accomplished using paints and inks. There is a photo tutorial that I created over at the paid-access site, StampingScrapping Techniques & Tutorials. I hope you all join us. This site is well worth the cost and your time.

I have completed my project with Rick’s unique digi, The Countess. She was screaming at me to put her on a tag. This is not something I would usually do, but I am really enjoying the creation part of these tags. You can find this image and more Halloween images at Rick's Etsy shop.

I have colored her with Copics (Cs & Ws) and then tweaked her hair with a white colored pencil. The dies are Spellbinders Spider web and Cheery Lynn’s Designs Lace Corners.

The roses are from my stash. Did you see the tiny dragonflies caught in The Countess’s web? Those are from Frost Creek Charms, where I purchase the majority of my favorite charms.

Did you know that we, at RSD, have several online groups. We have one on Facebook, Rick St. Dennis Digi Fans and Friends. One other is at Paper Craft Planet, Rick St. Dennis and Friends. We would love it if you stopped by whichever group you want, and show us your little pieces of art featuring Rick’s eclectic range of digi styles.

The Countess is on her way for a visit at:
Inky Impressions - Anything But a Card
The Paper Shelter - Use a Charm
LEJ Designs - Goth/Dark
Art with No Boundries - October/Halloween (this is my second entry)
Cupcake Crafts - Two of something (dragonfly charms)
Fashionista Challenge - Anything Goes

Get in the Halloween mood and join us for our 2nd Challenge at RSD’s Sparkle & Glitter blog. You have finished here, now head over there and check out all the other little pieces of art created by Rick’s Elite Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great and creative weekend!

October Joy with CBD

Good Friday afternoon! I have been churning out the art cards these past two weeks, and having the time of my life. I am getting ready for my very first arts and crafts show in three years. As most of you know in 2009 I was diagnosed with COPD with emphysema and am now on oxygen 24/7. I am still on O2, but I am so much stronger. I finally decided that this year is the year and I getting back in the swing of getting ready for art festivals and becoming more involved with design teams online. This one is just for one day, but baby steps are a must. Still, I am rather excited.

On to why I am here today...we have a new challenge for you over at Crafting by Designs. I am the hostess for one of our challenges during our second week in October and the theme is “Falling Leaves.” You can create any thing your mojo tells you too, but we want to see lots of leaves, be they in a pile, falling from a tree, laying on the ground just looking pretty, added to a wreath, you get the meaning. We want to see leaves.

As I said in the beginning of my post, I have been churning out cards, so this little piece of art is just that, an art card. And I have leaves galore! My image is from a wonderful artist that I discovered a couple of months ago, (and I am now on his Elite Design Team), Rick St. Dennis MFA (you should read his credentials!). I feel in love with this little elf, October Joy! (At the moment, it is not listed in his Etsy shop, but I am sure you could send him a message and he would get it right over to you.)

Do you know when you have all the leaves raked in a pile, go inside to get a drink, come back out to bag, and you have to rake them again? The “rake them again” part was accomplished by this little Autumn elf. He looks like he thoroughly enjoyed jumping in your pile of leaves, and making them magically fly around. He did have fun.

Supplies used for October Joy are:
Dies: Spellbinders Foliage, Bitty Blossoms, and Standard Circles. Marianne Creatables LR0156 Flower & Leaves.
Designer Paper: SCACD
Cardstock: SU in Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, and Really Rust. Cryogen for Copic Coloring.
Distress Inks: Vintage Photo, Rusty Hinge, and Forest Moss
Paint: Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam in Chandelier
Copics: Ys in 11, 15, 17, 21, 23, 26; YRs in 00, 12, 15; YGS in 91, 93, 95, 97; RVs in 91, 93, 99’ Rs in 20, 27; Es in 000, 09, 11, 35; Cs in 5.
Skeleton leaves: my stash.

This little elf would like to go play with:
Craft Us Crazy – Children and/or Fall
DL.ART – Linky Party, Anything Goes
Pixie Dust Studio – Full of Fantasy

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can join us at CBD for our Falling Leaves challenge, or any of our weekly challenges. Contact me if you have any questions.

Shades of Black

I hope that everyone has had a fantastic week! We were cooling down in Oklahoma, but some of the heat has come back. When this happens in Oklahoma, that means only one thing...get ready for severe thunderstorms. Hopefully, tornados are not one of the happenings during this thunderstorm, but who knows. This is Oklahoma!

We, at Delicious Doodles, have a brand new challenge ready to go. For our 6th Challenge our theme is “monochromatic.” We want to see anything you want to create, but using shades of one color. How fun is that? Your deadline is October 18, so you have plenty of time.

For my little piece of art was created with one of my favorite images by Teri, Lycaonia. I colored these beautiful kindred spirits with Copics, but I used only the Ws and the Cs. Lycaonia’s skin was colored with E000 with a touch of red pen for her lips.

My designer paper is from Delicious Doodles, but I could not find it in Teri’s shop. The name is “Fireworks in Black and White.” Give her a nudge, I bet she would put it back in her Delicious Doodles shop. I felt like it fit this image perfectly. It reminded me of ice crystals on a window pane.

Lycaonia will be entered in the following challenges:
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge – Monochromatic
Simply Create – Anything Goes
Crafts and Me – Anything Goes
Divas by Designs – Anything Goes

Now, after you have entered our Delicious Doodles 6th Challenge, head over to our Facebook group and show us your little piece of art.

Thanks for stopping by! Contact me if you have any questions. Have a fantastic and creative weekend.

Sparkle & Glitter's First Challenge

Welcome everyone! Today is the day that we have rolled out the carpet for our brand new Sparkle & Glitter, a Rick St. Dennis Challenge Blog. For the past two weeks Rick’s Elite Design Team (EDT), and Rick himself, have been sending out a lot of social media messages working up to this much anticipated event. And now that time has arrived!

I feel very honored and privileged to be a member of Rick’s EDT. He has chosen some very talented and creative artists for his team. It is going to be a joy working with each and everyone of them.

Our first Sparkle & Glitter challenge is going to be easy peasy. The theme is “Anything Goes with Bling.” We want to see that sparkle and glitter on your project. You can create anything you want, but it must have some sparkle and/or glitter somewhere on your piece of art.

For my little piece of art I chose to create a greeting card (no surprise there, huh?). I also used Rick’s image Chorus Cutie Faye. Chorus Cutie Faye is available on Rick’s Chorus Cuties Digi Sheet. If you have not visited Rick's Etsy Store, do so, and soon. He adds new images almost daily!

I love this image! Faye spoke to me. She is one of those divas that embraced her "middle-aged spread" and I have to admire that in her. ;o) I colored Chorus Cutie Faye with Copics, and added some Swarovski crystals for the sparkle. I have added a lot of die cuts to this project. I love dimension, but I do not want to lose the image in all of my embellishments. The flowers are from my stash and I have added Christmas Red Stickles for my glitter.

The challenges that Chorus Cutie Faye is entering are:
Nutcrafters – Paper Piecing (I did a lot of layering on the images)
The Paper Shelter – Distressing
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog – Glimmer and Sparkle
Divas by Design - Texture

Now for another added attraction to our brand new Sparkle & Glitter Challenge Blog, we have a “Guest Sponsor” for this challenge. Our guest sponsor is none other that Teri with Delicious Doodles. I think that we all love her amazing digis. I chose to create a project using Teri’s Ivy Fairy. You know me, I love dimension and I think that I accomplished that with all the die cuts. My sparkles are topaz Swarovski crystals, and my glitter is on the wings.

Ivy Fairy will be entered in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog – Glimmer and Sparkle
Through the Craft Room Door – Anything Goes
Try It On Tuesdays – Lots of Layers

Well, that’s it for this glorious Friday. If any of you need a list of supplies that I used on either project, just contact me. I have everything in my notes. I hope you join us at Sparkle & Glitter for our first challenge. Please read the challenge rules which are posted at the bottom of our Sparkle & Glitter Challenge Blog. And always have fun!

Thanks for stopping by. You all have a great and creative weekend!
Aletha
