Delicious Doodles Challenge No. 16

Welcome to our last Friday of 2012. Can you believe it? I reached 59 this year, and I swear that the years go by faster the older I get. Even with that said, I still look forward to the new 2013.

Delicious Doodles Design Team has Challenge #16 ready for you. Our theme this week is “Out with the Old.” The meaning behind this is maybe you want to use some of your new supplies, or maybe colors other than our traditional red and green Christmas colors. If you use a Delicious Doodles image you can enter twice. You never know who will be spotlighted next week. All the directions for entering once or twice are here.

My little piece of art is going to be my last Christmas card for 2012. I have used old and new on my projects. The old is my designer paper, cardstock, crackle paint, inks, and crystals. The new items are my image and dies.

The image that I colored with my Copics and Spica pens is Teri’s latest image, Queen of Holly. She is so hauntingly beautiful. I love how she is framed with holly.

My die cut embellishments came next. I inserted Queen of Holly matted image into the Holly Motifs die cut. The Holly Branch die was cut and I added some crackle paint and ink for dimension.

The supplies that I used are:
  • Copics: Skin-e000, e11, r20; Lips-r20, 422; Dress-e50, e51, e53, e57; Branches-e43, e47; Holly branch-e43, e47; Holly leaves-yg13, yg17, yg21, g29; Holly berries-r29, Spica red, white paint pen; Hair-c1, c3, c5, c7, c9, white Prismacolor pencil.
  • Dies: Spellbinders Holly Motifs; Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix Holly Branch.
  • CS: SU Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.
  • DP: My stash.
  • Other: DI Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint; DI Black Soot; red crystals from my stash.

I would like to enter Queen of Holly in the following challenges:
Simply Create – Anything Goes
Sarah Hurley Challenge – Christmas
Paper Play Challenges – Out with the old, in with the new

I hope to see your little piece of art at Delicious Doodles Challenge #16. Delicious Doodles is also having a “Year End” sale. Click here to see all the amazing images. Thanks so much for stopping by today. If I don’t write again until 2013 you all have a wonderful and safe Happy New Year!

RSD in the early 1900s

Happy Monday! I hope that all of you enjoyed the First Annual Rick St. Dennis (RSD) MFA “13 Days of Creepmas.”  Just to brag a little, Rick’s Elite Design Team created some amazing little pieces of art with Rick’s images. He also rolled out a lot of new images too. If you missed any of the new ones, you can catch up starting at his blog Airless Chambers.

I bring to you today a very fun card that I created using one of RSD’s newer images, 1918 Hat. Do you like to color hair? This one is for you. Look at those ringlets! I really had fun with those curls. And her hat…I love the broad brim. I kept it all in greens and yellows. I think that I am wishing for spring time and some rain!

I kept the layout fairly simple due the beautiful image. I really want Rick’s images to be the center of attention. She is colored with Copics and a little Spica pen. She is then cut with a scalloped die and popped up on a circle die. Background paper is from my stash, added some lace and ribbon, plus the corner dies. For the finishing touch added some roses with Crystal Stickles, gotta love those Stickles!

Supplies that I used are:

My 1918 Hat art card will be entered in the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody – Anything Goes,
Eclectic Ellapu – Anything Goes,
Artistic Inspirations – Anything Goes,
Make It Monday – Anything Goes.

Do you need some more Rick St. Dennis inspiration? Head on over to our groups on Facebook, Rick St. Dennis Fans & Friends, and at The Crafter’s CafĂ© (TCC), Rick St. Dennis & Friends. There is a challenge going on over at TCC. You create anything you want, but no cards allowed. You do have to use an RSD image, but I know that will not be a problem for most of you.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please contact me. Until next time you all have a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Winter in White at Sparkle & Glitter

Have you been enjoying Rick St. Dennis “13 Day of Creepmas” blog hop? During this blog hop Rick has created many new images. You could win some of those images. If you have not started the hop, please start at Rick’s blog “Airless Chambers.”

Now let’s get on with our Challenge #5 at Sparkle andGlitter with Rick. We have another fun one for you! Our theme is “Winter inWhite.” With the unseasonably warm weather, I think that the majority of the United States is ready for a little colder weather. I did say “a little colder.” We want to see any piece of art that you want to create, but the theme must be visible. We want to see plenty of white on your project. Your deadline is Dec. 20. Take some time out from your busy schedule, relax, create something white, and join us for our 5th Challenge “Winter in White.”

I created a winter card using Rick’s image “Isabella MakingSnow Friends.” This is my first time coloring one of Rick’s Isabella images. I think that I need more. This little girl is one of the cutest and so much fun to color.

I have used Copics and Spica pens for most of my coloring. I have accented the borders and dies cuts with Distress Ink in Stormy Sky. I have added die cuts and crystals to help with the winter in white feel.

My list of supplies are:
Copics: e000, 11; r20; c000, 0, 1, 2; b0000, 91, 95, 97, 99.
Dies: Spellbinder’s Create-A-Flake 3, Fleur De Lis Rectangles; Memory Box Frosty Border.
Ink: Stormy Sky Distress Ink.
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Night of Navy; Neenah white.
Isabella is going to be entered in the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps & More – Use Markers
Crafts & Me – Anything Goes
Divas by Design – Snow
Simon Says Stamp – Snowflakes

Thanks for stopping by. Contact me if you have any questions. Have a fantastic weekend!
