I Brake for Halloween with Magic Wanda

Happy Halloween! Another fun project for you today. I really like this time of year, but it’s just too short in Oklahoma. It seems like we have our summer, then a little time for fall, and here comes our first freeze.  On a more positive not, it will be warmer for Trick or Treat night. We usually have around 100-150 kids knocking on our door. One other favorite crafting project that I do every year is carve a Frankenstein’s Monster pumpkin. Yep, it really looks like Boris Karloff as the Monster.  Fun, Fun! It does take me around 2-3 hours to carve, but so worth it. You would not believe the faces of people when they see it, especially the adults.

My project today is a 5¾” Halloween card with the beautiful image of “Magic Wanda.” Isn’t she a beauty? Wanda was designed by Rick St.Dennis MFA for I Brake for Stamps (IBFS). You can find Wanda in digital format, or as a rubber stamp, whichever you prefer.

Magic Wanda was colored with Copics and accented with Spica pens. After I was finished coloring her, I trimmed her with Spellbinder’s CardCreator A2 Curved Matting Basics B. I then distressed the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. Wanda was then layered on Stampin’ Up!’s Old Olive and Basic Black cardstock.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, 11, BV000, R20
Hair: Y11, 21, E39, 59, 97, 99
Collar: YG21, 23, 67
Hat: C00, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
Background: W0, 1, 2, 3, YG21

My designer paper is Echo Park’s “The Apothecary Emporium” collection. Wanda’s web is from a Cheery Lynn die-cut that I painted using Viva Décor black 3-D Stamp Paint. Wanda’s stars are wood veneer from my stash. I decided to use a little gold lame Smooch Ink to make them stand out.

Magic Wanda will be entered in the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Sweet Stampin' - Halloween

I hope you will visit our IBFS blog every day for creative inspiration. Also, check our IBFS Facebook page for all the happenings in Della’s online shop.
