Flowers Challenge at Delicious Doodles

We have a new challenge at Delicious Doodles and it’s all about flowers. That’s what our theme is this time around, “Flowers.” Teri has some beautiful floral digis (65 images to be exact) in her shop, Delicious Doodles. And for this challenge, and any of our other challenges, if you use a Delicious Doodles image your entry counts twice.

The one I chose to work with is Teri’s “Iris Flower.” I love Irises and I wish we had more in our backyard. Maybe that will happen this year. I think that I mentioned in one of my blogs that I have been coloring with a lot of blue. Well, my coloring is no different for this project. Maybe I am just ready for some blue skies in Oklahoma.

I colored Iris Flower with Copics. After all the blue coloring was complete I trimmed the image with Spellbinder’s Classic Large Square die. I cut with the largest die that is 3½” square. I added some Faded Jeans Distress Ink to the edges.  The next step was the layering, which I completed with Stampin’ Up!’s cardstock in Brilliant Blue and Brocade Blue.

Copics used:
Y32, 35, 38
G40, 82, 94, 99
B21, 24, 26, 29
Background
(I kept it very light):
W00, 0, 1, 2

To finish the card I decided on some designer paper from TimHoltz’s Vintage Shabby collection. I touched the edges of that with more Faded Jeans DI. This was layered with the blue cardstocks. Final touches were the yellow flat-backed pearls and a tied bow from some gold satin ribbon. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I belong to their monthly ribbon club and I must say that I am not sorry that I signed up several years ago.

After you enter our Delicious Doodles Challenge, I hope that you come join our Delicious Doodles Facebook group and share your little piece of art.
