‘Tis the Season to be Grateful

Welcome to my blog for one more October post! Today I have created an autumn colored card and I am going to say it’s a CAS style. This is a new color combo for me, and I love it.

My project is definitely on the heavy side of die cutting, but it does make a pretty card. The “grateful” die sentiment, from Simon Says Stamp, was cut three times and glued together to make one sentiment. While that was drying, I formed my card base with patterned paper and cardstock from Simon Says Stamp November Monthly Kit. This one kit is sold out. You will see in the supply list below I linked the kit’s merchandise I used. You can purchase the supplies separately or subscribe to the monthly kit.

Next step was cutting Spellbinder’s Twisted Palm die twice, and adhere both to the top and bottom of my card front. You will see that I added strips of the red cardstock to add more dimension to my final card.

With my sentiment dry, I added three layers of embossing ink plus the gold embossing powder between each layer of ink. Each layer was first melted before adding the next layer. I popped up the sentiment with foam tape, placed in the center. The final touch for the card front was the gold sequins and Tidings Stickles.

For the inside of the card I added more strips of the red cardstock. The sentiment, Simon Says Stamp’s Thankful Heart clear set, was stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz pigment ink.

Grateful would like to enter in the following challenges:

Bright Sketchy Blooms

I know it's not spring or summer, but when I saw this gorgeous stamp at Simon Says Stamps from Stampendous, I knew that my colors were going to bright and springy. I wonder what they would look like with fall colors? I might have to try fall colors the next time I color Sketch Blooms by Stampendous.

Of course, my first step was stamping Sketchy Blooms on blending cardstock and begin coloring with Copics Sketch markers. I do recommend using a cardstock that is made for the blending of Copics or any other alcohol based markers. You will be satisfied in the outcome of your project.

Copics used are:
Reds: R30, 32, 35, 37, 39;
Pinks: RV00, 17, 63, 66, 69;
Blues: B21, 23, 26, 29;
Leaves: YG17, 21, +G28;
Background: BG000, 10, 11.

The next step was trimming the image to a 4.5” square. I added the blue denim cardstock to the front panel of my 4.75” card. I added white fun foam to the image square and offset it so the finished image would show the blue cardstock. I splattered blue glitter marker and finished with 3mm sparkling sequins. I really need to grow my sequin stash. I have fallen in love with them, along with Swarovski crystals.

Sketchy Blooms will enter the following challenges:
Aurora Wings – Anything Goes
613 Avenue Create – Anything Goes w/optional twist
Art by Miran – Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by! I enjoy all visits and love answering questions, just ask. See you again in the next couple of days. I have all links to my supplies listed after my closing.

Orchids and a Thank You

So happy y'all dropped by my blogging world! I do love sitting down begin my coloring flowers. These orchids fit right in.

I finished this Thank You card back in July and today I found some time to write about my process. This clear stamp is part of a Gina K Designs set designed by Theresa Momber entitled “Elegant Florals 2.” I am in love with Theresa's designs and also Melanie Muenchinger's art work. Gina has a crew of very talented artists and designers. To watch most of the videos, head over to StampTV and join in the fun. Click on Melanie’s and Theresa’s name above and you will be taken to their YouTube channels. You can also join us at our Facebook group “Gina K Designs’ Fan Club.”

I first stamped the orchid images twice with Memento ink on Copic X-Press Blending cardstock. This cardstock is my favorite when it comes to coloring with Copics. After the coloring and trimming was complete, I added Liquid pearls to the center of each orchid. I then used several layers of a pumpkin color cardstock and ivory cardstock.

Copic colors used are:
Orchids: RV63, 69 + YR20, 23, 24;
Branches: G20, 82, 85;
Background: B000, 00, +BG10, +G20, 93.

“Thank You So Much” will be entered in the following challenges:
Lemon Shortbread Challenge – Anything Goes
Aurora Wings Challenge – Black, orange, and one other color (I hope this makes it.)
Craft You Passion – Anything Goes
StampTV - Inspiration Photo

The following is the full list of supplies. Some links are affiliated links,
