New Release at Aurora Wings

It’s almost the weekend! How about a little Aurora Wings inspiration? The Aurora Wings Showcase designers have a tremendous amount of inspiration for you today.

Our new release is called “Reverie.” Mitzi has described this image as “a moth emerging from her chrysalis stage.” Isn’t that a beautiful expression? I did a little research on the coloring and detail of moths. What I found is mind boggling. They are kin to butterflies (have been around longer than butterflies) and there are over 160,000 types of moths, some have not even been described yet.

After my research I decided that I wanted Reverie to be the “red moth.” I loved the way the red and black of the wings melded together (lots of black and red Copic flicking) and the body was red. I hope that I did Reverie justice in my mixed-media piece.

Copics used:
Body: R02, 14, 24;
Wings: R01, 14, 24, 46, and
W1, 3, 5, 7, 9;
Roses: R22, 24, 27, 29, 89, and
V20, 22, 25, 28 BV29, and
Y11, 15, 17, 28;
Filler Flowers: R02, Y17, V25;
Vines: Pear Tart Memento Marker;
Background: Blue and Orange Pearlescent, and
Turquoise PanPastels.

 Other supplies:
Mat Board: 8”x10” black from Mattboardplus.com;
Pearls on the actual image: DecoArt Paper Effects;
Fun Stampers Journey Pomegranate Splash cardstock;
Other pearls, flowers, etc.: from my stash.

I don’t want you to miss out on our Aurora Wings 2,250 Member Celebration event. Click here to join in starting today and ending Saturday. I hope we see you there.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have any questions, please contact me.

I love how you drew your inspiration from an actual moth, Aletha! The red and black is such a striking color combo, and it's breathtaking on this moth fairy. I adore your jewel toned creations and style. So opulent and magnificent. This is no exception! Thank you once again for a stunning inspiration for this new release.

Big hugs,
Mitzi xxx
