It’s almost the weekend! How about a little Aurora Wings
inspiration? The Aurora
Wings Showcase designers have a tremendous amount of inspiration for you
today.
Our new release is called “Reverie.”
Mitzi has described this image as “a moth emerging from her chrysalis stage.” Isn’t
that a beautiful expression? I did a little research on the coloring and detail
of moths. What I found is mind boggling. They are kin to butterflies (have been
around longer than butterflies) and there are over 160,000 types of moths, some
have not even been described yet.
After my research I decided that I wanted Reverie to be the “red
moth.” I loved the way the red and black of the wings melded together (lots of
black and red Copic
flicking) and the body was red. I hope that I did Reverie justice in my
mixed-media piece.

I love how you drew your inspiration from an actual moth, Aletha! The red and black is such a striking color combo, and it's breathtaking on this moth fairy. I adore your jewel toned creations and style. So opulent and magnificent. This is no exception! Thank you once again for a stunning inspiration for this new release.
