The Art of Belly Dancing

First I want to apologize for my MIA. Life just got in the way and I had to take a short break, but now I am back in full swing. I had to give up most of my design team positions because of my life happenings. I did, however, manage to stay with Rick St. Dennis MFA.

For my first project in over a month, I would like to introduce you to Fayuez. I decided to create an easel card. Rick’s image, Fayuez, is modeled after the real Belly Dancer. Isn’t she beautiful? The minute he sent this to me, I could not wait to set my Copics on her. Rick described her as having bright red hair, and wearing pastel colors and thousands of dollars of rhinestones. I hope I did justice to her.

I did ask Rick to start critiquing my coloring and, guess what, he did. His one and only comment was that my light source was “wandering.” I am so glad he used that rather simple term (you all know that I am a very simple country girl from Oklahoma LOL) because I knew exactly where he was talking about. My wondering light source happened in her skirt. So my challenge to me is to practice more with clothes and light source.

On to the nitty gritty…my supplies I used for my little piece of art are:

Fayuez would like to enter the following challenges:
Through the Craftroom Door – Anything Goes
No Matter Which Challenges – Anything Goes
Color Me Creative Classroom – Anything Goes

That’s it for today! If you have any questions, please contact me.
