A Dragonfly meets a little Midnight Madness

Happy Tuesday!

My project was completed with a little sadness. It’s my last one for Priscilla Styles Store. I have had to scale back my design team work due to personal/health/time issues. Those issues are all for the good, believe me. I am just sad about not being able to stay on Priscilla’s DT for another term. She has some of the most interesting and creative images to work with. And believe me, I have thoroughly enjoyed creating with them.

This little creation started with Priscilla’s Dragonfly image. It is one of my favorites. I have tried to make the entire piece look vintage.

First I colored the dragonfly with Copics in B91, 95, 97, 99 and W0, 3, 9. I covered the wings with Lime Ice and Holly Stickles. The cardstock is a natural color from my stash. The DP is from Cosmo Cricket and BasicGrey. I have distressed the edges and then use Distress Ink in Vintage Photo around all edges.
My embellishments are ribbon from SU and the pearls are from BasicGrey and Prima.

The wonderful sketch is from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge blog, and it’s the 96th challenge! This is just the beginning of this challenge, so you have plenty of time to create something of your own. And you will also want to join Priscilla’s group on CDAC, a very fun group of people to keep you motivated.

Other challenges for my dragonfly are:
The Crafty Pad – use a digi

Remember, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Waiting on the Sweet Peas…

I guess I am truly ready for spring. But we will still have to wait a while longer. Our local meteorologist keeps warning us not to get to use to the warm weather. Winter is still here. If we get more winter, I will just color more pink things! LOL

This is one of my favorites from Priscilla’s Styles.  The image is Sweet Peas Digital Stamp and is one of her new illustrations.

Also, have your ever heard of Crafter’s Digital Art Center? Here’s the link. You really need to check out all the digital artists and all the fun challenges. You will not be sorry.

Bearly Mine Challenges – Ribbon and Pearls
Sweet Stamps Blog - Flowers
Party Time Tuesdays – Anything Goes

The supplies I used:
Copics: RV02, 10, 17; YG17, 21, 23; W1, 4; E31, 35

A Flower at Midnight Madness

I was ready for Spring, now I will take the Oklahoma heat of August. We still have almost 16” of snow on the ground. And we’re getting ready for another 5”-10” again on Wednesday. This is nothing for people living up North, but Oklahoma? We are used to maybe a blizzard for 24 hours, but the next day could be 50ยบ. The snow would be gone in 48 hours. It’s just sticking around. Darn that “global warming.” LOL

Anyway, on to my creation.

First the sketch. This is Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #90. This sketch was wonderful to work with. I so love sketches or what I would call a “layout.” You can make it fancy or plain. The deadline for your creation is Feb. 14.

The image that I used is from Priscilla’s Digi Store. Priscilla’s wonderful illustration is from the Sunflower set (a set of 3)  I did morph it a little and I have never seen a pink sunflower. But that is the beauty of digi stamps and our imaginations. I printed the sunflower three different times in three different sizes. I then colored each one. I cut and layered the first complete sunflower. The other two layers are the bloom only in two different sizes. Hope you like it!

My recipe:
Copics: RV00; R81, 83, 85, 89; YG91, 93, 95, 99
Pens: Spicas in Pink and Olive; Gelly Roll in Clear Star
Inks: Distress in Peeled Paint
DP: Prima Marketing in Fairy Flora
Cardstock: SU Kraft; Cryogen 80#
Pearls: Stash from Hobby Lobby Wedding Department
Ribbon: Stamping’ Up!

Other challenges that I have entered:
Aly’s Sunday Challenge – bling, make it flashy
2 Sisters Challenge Blog – The World is our Oyster (use pearls)
Color Me Creative Classroom - Flowers

If you have any questions contact me. Everyone have a great week!

Ready for Spring!

Welcome to Tuesday! And my second post for the week. I am off to a good start for the last week of January. I hope I can stay this productive for the rest of the week. But, unfortunately, it’s my turn to buy groceries. Ugh! But he’s cookin’! No complaints really, I NEED to get out of the house! (NO, it does not take me a week to buy groceries. LOL It takes me a little while to get back into the creative mode. I would much rather be in my studio. Wouldn't you?)

Priscilla Styles Design Team "B" designed several scrumptious treats for your eyes using Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #88  Check my side bar for Priscilla’s Design Team Members and leave them some love. Here’s the sketchs. You can make it plain or fancy. I think I chose fancy ‘cause of the pearls and Stickels.
My project is with one of my favorite digis from Priscilla Styles Store.  The image I used is from the set Butterflies.  The set includes three butterflies, 2 of them are with the wings up. Go check them out. You will be able to do wonders with these beauties.
My recipe is:
Copics: R81, 83, 85, 39; E71, 47; W6; and blender pen
Inks: Distress
Cardstock: SU 80# and Cryogen 80#
Designer Paper: Basic Grey, Sultry collection
Embellishments: Green pearls; Stickles in Star Dust and Pumice Stone
Other challenges that I entered are:
Flutter by Wednesday #138 – anything goes, but must be butterfly, angel, or fairy

Thanks so much for stopping by again! I really do appreciate it! If you have any questions, please contact me.

A Date with the Girls and Midnight Madness

She’s all ready to hit the town with her BFFs for the evening! Don’t you just love those times? I know my times with my BFFs is very precious.

My very “first official” project as a member of Priscilla Styles Design Team is for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #86. The image that I used is one of the turtle designs from a set of three. You really need to take a look at all of Priscilla’s designs. Her illustrations are from vintage to whimsy. I think you will find something you like. I almost forgot. Look at the tag. That “flourish” is also Priscilla’s design.

Here’s the sketch. You can make it fancy our not so fancy. I really haven’t decided what to call it.
Other challenges that I have entered are:
Ooh La La Creations – bling
Karber Weekly Challenges – use a digi images and pearls
I hope everyone has a great week! If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thanks for stopping by,

A Victorian Christmas Rose

Happy Sunday everyone! I have had a great week. I have done some soul searching and have come up with a plan for my life. And this past week has proven to me that when I get focused, have my “To Do” list handy (a realistic list, LOL), I can accomplish many things. This year has been a very stressful year for both my husband and me. But we both have come to realize that we are not SUPER HUMANS. Although we are very good multi-taskers and we will probably continue in that life style, but we are learning to say NO. We are both approaching 60, we need to slow down, enjoy our lives, exercise daily, and create all that we can (he’s a writer/editor).

This past week and a half I have been able to create three projects, get two listed on Etsy, and blog about two of those projects. This blog will be the second project. That’s one of my goals, to at least create two-three projects a week, list on Etsy, and blog. I also walk a mile a day and exercise with weights. I am also on The Stamping Boutique’s DT and I have applied for several others for 2011. Then comes chores and family (except family will probably pop in whenever they want, LOL a lot). That’s okay! We both have come to realize that family and friends are too precious to waste. Life is so short!

On to the project…

I have created another Gilli and have entered her in the challenge over at Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.  If you ever need inspiration for layouts, this is a great place to go. I save all the sketches and when my mojo flies away, I go to that folder and start looking.

This particular Gilli is the Victorian Gilli created by the talented artist Anary Atelie and purchased at StampingScrapping

These are the Copics I used.

The Designer Papers I used are from Memory Box’s Mistletoe and Spiceberry collections. I have also used SU’s CS in Real Red, Cryogen, and Neenah Classic White. The roses I sprayed with Glimmer Mists in Burnt Red and Black Cherry. I used a Martha Stewart leaf punch for the leaves and spayed with Lily Pad Glimmer Mist. I also used a Holly Ribbons Cuttlebug embossing folder for the middle real red panel on the front of the card. I know that I am leaving something out. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate contacting me at ajsdesigns@cox.net.

And if you would like to purchase this for yourself or as a gift, you can find it in my Etsy Studio

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great week!
